End Of Lease Cleaning
Cleaning is often the most annoying part of moving house! Removing minor scuffs and stains can be quite a headache, but it doesn’t have to be. Many household items can be extremely effective at cleaning and removing common marks.
Remove marks from hard surfaces
The common office eraser is a great tool for cleaning, and can be used to remove most common marks in the house on many hard surfaces. This method is especially effective for walls and hard wood. Toothpaste is another great alternative to an eraser, and it is most effective against particularly stubborn marks. Just keep in mind though that it can stain some surfaces, so before you apply it, do a spot test to check it won’t leave a permanent mark.
Remove unpleasant odors
Bicarb soda is a wonder cleaner, but that’s not the only thing it’s great for. Most unpleasant odors can be removed using bicarbonate soda, especially from fabrics. Apply liberally to the required area, and the odor should dissipate within one to two days. Once the smell has dissapeared, vacuum or remove the bicarb soda.
Removing solids stuck in fabric
A hot iron and a cloth can do wonders, and remove most solids stuck in fabric. Keep in mind you are using a hot iron, so be very careful not to burn yourself. Simply lay the cloth down and iron over the solid. This should melt the solid slightly, and make it easier to extract from the fabric in one piece.
